Support me cycling in Senegal for Education!

Hello! My name is Rafaela. For the ones who don't know me, I'm 27 yo, I am an educator and visual artist, originally from Brazil and now living in Madeira!

Some time ago I met Carole, an amazing French entrepreneur who started a beautiful social project called RuntheWorld! https://www.runtheworld.co/

 

For the month of December, she and her team are organizing a trip to Senegal where we'll cycle 230km to make a difference. 230km is the distance a kid walks (by foot) every month to go to school in the rural areas of Senegal.

 

After such long walks, most kids don’t even have energy left to study, and in worst cases they end up dropping school.

 

During the trip, we'll visit Bicicleta Sin Fronteras’s project (Spanish NGO based in Senegal) and, as a group, we'll sponsor 15 Baobikes through "Bicycle For Education Program".

 

15 bikes is already a huge achievment, as it will enable 15 teens to cycle to school instead of walking everyday for their entire school life. However, we want this adventure to have a GREATER IMPACT. So we decided to aim higher and get 25 more bikes!

Each bike costs 180Euros and it can be used by the same kid throughout all his/hers school period!

So I am here to ask you to help me to support them!

 

This trip costs 995€, the flights will be another 500€ (+-) and then 180€ for a bao-bike (this would be the extra donation to the NGO).

 

So with a total amount of 1.675€. I will put all my strength to reach this 230km in a week but needs your funding to make this dream of mine possible.

 

With this amount, we will make sure. at least 16 kids will be able to ride their bikes to school and study everyday, until they finish high school!

 

I will be there to meet the NGO staff and beneficiaries and make sure your participation arrives in good hand.
