**Long and Emotional Post**
Last Thursday our lives changed forever. After two weeks of what we thought was a virus -with everything going around- I trusted my gut and took my 10 year old Max into the ER. They decided to run a viral panel and chest xray rule out pneumonia because his cough was getting worse by the minute. On the chest xray they found that he had a mass in his chest. To say I was completely gutted is an understatement. Things moved quickly from there with a CT scan and then a transfer to the bigger children’s hospital in Salt Lake.
It was confirmed to be T cell lymphoblastic lymphoma after a terrifying biopsy with a compromised airway. The doctors are confident in his chances for a full recovery but it is a long and painful road to remission. This kid has been so tough through all of this and have shown me what angels on earth look like. He has continued to make us laugh and is pretty fun to hang out with 24/7.
I am not posting this for sympathy or charity in any type of way. But I know I’ve read stories like this and it made me hug the ones I love a little tighter.
We have so much family and friend support and are so blessed in where we are in our lives to be able to provide the best care that Max deserves. I’ll do my best to post updates as they come. For now we are starting chemo and will be in the hospital for a while.
There have been so many miracles throughout this and if you believe in the power of prayer, send some our way!
