Help My Mom & John After Back-to-Back Cancer Diagnoses in Her Family

Hi, my name is Katie, and I am Maureen Coss's oldest daughter. My mom has always been a caregiver, but this past year has been unimaginably difficult for her. Shortly after retiring, her brother was diagnosed with cancer. She brought him into her home and cared for him through hospice, giving him love and comfort during his final days. Not long after, her partner John received his own shocking cancer diagnosis.

While John's outlook is hopeful, the financial strain has become overwhelming. Between her brother’s medical bills and John’s ongoing chemotherapy, the costs are stacking up quickly. My mom should be enjoying the peace and security of retirement, but instead, she’s carrying an emotional and financial weight that no one should have to face.

On a personal note, John has been incredibly helpful to me during a difficult time in my own life. He doesn’t even realize the impact he had—and still has—on me. This is my chance to help give back to someone who has quietly supported me when I needed it most.
