Hi! My name is Noah, I’m a Core Team Volunteer at the Lavender Room!

On 12/16/24, my dear friend Mateo got a call from his insurance stating they will not cover his top surgery on 12/17 because they are not contractually obligated to cover gender affirming care. His family is going to try to pay out of pocket by taking money out of their savings. I want to help them replace as much of that money as we can, or if he cant get the surgery today, to help them pay as much as they can when he gets surgery within the next two weeks.

These funds will be used in its entirety to pay for Mateo’s surgery.

This is really urgent, and anything helps! Mateo is a very strong and smart guy working on his degree in Social Work. He says that he wants to use his degree to fight back transphobia in medical spaces that he has faced his whole life. If anyone deserves this, its him!!
