<div>In late February, just weeks after giving birth to her baby boy Carey, our dear friend Masha received devastating news: at just 39 years old, she was diagnosed with locally advanced colon cancer.

<div>During what should be one of the happiest times in her life —a period meant for bonding with Carey and cherishing moments with her husband Jared and their beloved dog, Walter —Masha will have to undergo a series of medical treatments, and Jared will have to balance the immense task of supporting Masha throughout the process, caring for their newborn, maintaining employment, and managing day-to-day life, including caring for their family dog.

<div>Doctors have confirmed that Masha’s cancer is aggressive and requires urgent, specialized treatment. Medical care is already moving rapidly. In the coming days, Masha will undergo major surgery to remove the tumor, followed by chemotherapy -among other interventions depending on surgery results and expert recommendations. Her path ahead is challenging, and though we remain hopeful for a full cure and recovery, the uncertainty is deeply frightening for a new mother.

<div>In addition to being a mother, wife, and beloved member of her community, Masha is a gifted and accomplished actress and acting coach. She was looking forward to getting back to work quickly after Carey’s birth but unfortunately, her diagnosis has abruptly halted those plans.

<div>Masha and Jared's closest friends and family have quickly united to form a support group—a testament to the amazing people Masha and Jared are, and the positive impact they have had on the lives of all around them.
</div>

<div>We are aiming to raise $150,000 to alleviate the substantial financial stress that accompanies Masha’s urgent medical treatment and to provide essential family support during this challenging time. The National Cancer Institute places colorectal cancer at a minimum 100k financial burden, not taking into account living in NYC with a newborn.
