Support Maryellen's Battle with Esophageal Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Jess. I have a rare illness myself and have had 19 surgeries in the last few years. So it’s safe to say times are already very hard.
In the last few months, my mother, Maryellen Redmond (Urban), has become very ill. She’s been diagnosed with a 6.7 cm cancerous tumor in her esophagus. They said the esophageal cancer is stage three, and she will be doing chemo and radiation five days a week for 5.5 weeks, along with all of the medication she’s already taking. My mom is completely tube-fed now, and all of her medicine needs to be done through her feeding tube as well. She’s on Medicare, so it doesn’t cover very much of her medications or her treatments.
My mom never really asked for much from anyone. She’s always truthfully been a giver. If I could ask for any help through this time, it’s to give back to her a little bit. My mom is a bit too proud to ask for help, but I’m not too proud to stand up and ask for her. She’s done the best she could for us our whole entire lives. She currently has a hospital bed in my living room. My little family and I do the best we can to take care of her, but getting back and forth for treatments is very expensive, along with all the formulas and products for her feeding tube. She’s not only an amazing single mother of 2 but also a grandmother to 3 amazing kids who love her to death . If you’re not able to help, if you could please share, that would mean the world to us. Thank you so much for even taking the time to read this.
