<div>MaryCris fought a battle with breast cancer in 2020 just after her baby girl Sophia turned one. She was already raising a son Sebastian, she was a new mom again, and COVID pandemic was in full swing. With many treatments and prayers answered she went into remission.

<div>Just a short 3 years later, she found herself short of breath and couldn't shake a bad cough. She learned that she had tumors in her lung and lymph nodes. She has coverage with Kaiser, but I'm sure you're aware they don't really have the best care and treatments for cancer. They didn’t give her much hope. We encouraged her to visit Emory in Atlanta and Duke University to find different treatments and get second opinions. She has been battling this for over a year now. The chemo will start to do its job and shrink the tumors, but then it pops up in a new location. She developed a very large tumor in her neck causing her pain and swelling. She went back to Emory Oncologist and started an aggressive chemo drug that burned her internally but amazingly shrunk the neck tumor and she was happy and thankful and back at worship where she is surrounded with prayers.

<div>Unfortunately, cancer cells just metastasized in her brain with innumerable lesions. Two months ago her brain was clear but then she experienced daily headaches for about 2 weeks and she got in to Kaiser. Doctor recommended whole brain radiation which could negatively affect her functions. She is asking for prayers at this time with this difficult situation. MaryCris also reached out to Emory and Duke oncologists again to seek another treatment or obtain their best advice. The brain cancer is progressing as she started having dizziness and numbing on her left side. Tomorrow she is having her spine scanned to see if that should be included in the radiation. It appears radiation is her only option for quick results. The radiation will take place at Emory hospital each day for 2 weeks which means staying in a hotel nearby. Please pray all goes well!

<div>She is also on the hunt for an immunotherapy trial that may treat and eliminate the cancer for good. So far, she hasn't found one but is now contacting Mayo, Johns Hopkins, Sloan Memorial, and MD Anderson as well. This will all be an out of pocket cost and they have used all their savings and maxed out credit cards.

<div>MaryCris is one of the most faithful, trusting, obedient Christian women to our Heavenly Father. She gets through each day because she has comfort and peace and hope through Christ.
