My name is Marybeth. I am 38 years old with two little girls. I was recently diagnosed in May 2023 with stage 2 colon cancer with a 7cm tumor. The tumor was cut out with 8 inches of my sigmoid colon removed.
My oncologist said that I would need to have blood work every 3 months, CT scans every 6 months, and colonoscopies every year for the rest of my life. Recently, they detected tumor markers. More and more blood work and a colonoscopy, CT scan, PET scan, MRI, and a biopsy were all performed. As it turns out, my colon cancer spread to my liver.
I am now stage 4 with a battle ahead of me .
I was told by my oncologist that I have to have 6 months of chemotherapy and a surgery. My oncologist informed me that I couldn't work because of the chemo; I would be sick and unable to work. I was supposed to start a new bartending job, but with my diagnosis, I was unable to start.
My vehicle was recently repossessed due to messed up paperwork. It's been a mess, and I have been trying to get on disability, but it's going nowhere. I just need a little help to get through these months of bills and taking care of my babies.
