<div>Hi, my name is Mars. I’m only 20 years old, and for the past year I’ve been fighting a painful, exhausting battle with C. difficile (C. diff) — a severe intestinal infection that keeps coming back.

<div>Since April 2024, C. diff has been a shadow over my life. It has made me sick, weak, and scared in ways I never thought I’d experience at my age. At one point, it got so bad that I developed sepsis, a life-threatening complication. That was one of the scariest moments of my life — realizing that this infection could actually take me away from the people I love.

<div>The only medication that can finally help me recover costs about $5,000. With insurance, I’m so lucky that I don’t have to cover the full amount — but I do have to pay my deductible of $3,600 before coverage kicks in. For me, at 20 and just starting out, that amount feels impossible on my own.
