Help Me Train My Service Dog Kylo
Hi everyone,
My name is Marley, and I’ve been living with severe mental health challenges for the past 6 years, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, panic attacks, and chronic DPDR (depersonalization-derealization disorder). It’s been a long, exhausting road of medication, therapy, and intensive treatments. While I’ve made progress, I still face daily struggles that make even simple tasks—like going to the grocery store—feel overwhelming or impossible.
That’s why I brought Kylo into my life.
Kylo is a Golden Retriever puppy and the perfect breed for psychiatric service work. My goal is to have him professionally trained to become my psychiatric service dog, which would be life-changing. He will be trained to perform essential tasks such as grounding me during panic attacks, helping me stay present during dissociation, creating space for me in public settings, and providing deep pressure therapy when I feel overwhelmed or unsafe.
Panic attacks can come on suddenly and leave me feeling like I’m dying. In those moments, having a trained service dog like Kylo could help calm my nervous system, interrupt the spiral, and help me feel grounded and safe again. It’s hard to explain how much that would change my quality of life, but it truly means everything to me.
The cost of Kylo’s professional training is $3,800.
This will include group training, trainers coming to my house & meeting us at the store. He will be in training from now until he’s a little after a year(he’s 5 months now.) While I wish I could cover it all myself, it’s more than I can afford right now. That’s why I’m reaching out and humbly asking for help. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward Kylo’s service dog training and bringing me one step closer to a safer, more independent life.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. If you’re not in a place to donate, sharing this would mean the world to me.
With all my heart,
Marley & Kylo
