Support Mark Wilson's Recovery from Home Fire
Donation protected
During the first week in May, our Security Officer, Mark Wilson suffered a kitchen fire in his home. The fire was contained to his kitchen but as you may know, the smoke and soot travels throughout the house. The smoke and soot has covered everything in his home! Thankfully, neither Mark or his dog were hurt as a result of the fire.
Unfortunately, he must replace many, many household items! Any kind of fabric retains that smoke odor despite multiple washings or cleanings! He has been forced to replace many household items---things we often take for granted as just "being there", but also those items that are cherished with beautiful memories of people, places and times gone by.
He is currently living in a hotel room, working with his insurance and management companies while waiting to find a permanent housing solution.
Mark has supported and helped Briar Village homeowners for many years--from assisting with lost pets, to investigating and working with local law enforcement to capture the "bad guys" to patrolling the neighborhood daily. Mark has been here to assist us. Now it is our turn to help him get back on his feet after such a loss. We cannot replace his cherished items, but we can help with replacing household items!
Right now, he needs more than he thinks he needs! When he goes to reach for something simple, like a towel or can-opener and the like, its simply not there! These are just things we take for granted, but there is so much more!
So please donate as much as you comfortably can---no amount is too small or too big! Let's show that we really are a village that takes care of one another!
