Support Mark Gunner's Medical Journey

Hello - my name is Alix Gunner and this gofundme is dedicated to my father-in-law, Mark Gunner.

Recently his wife, Melissa, and two youngest sons (Alex and Elijah) witnessed a traumatic event that Mark experienced. Several veins in his esophagus ruptured causing severe internal bleeding, convulsions, and loss of consciousness. He was taken by ambulance to North Mississippi Medical Center and underwent a procedure to repair these veins. On top of this, he is also battling end-stage liver disease, and dependent on further testing tomorrow (10.10.24), may require a liver transplant.

As you can imagine, this has been an incredibly difficult time for our family as we navigate through the possiblities, questions, medical treatments, and the daily hurdles of managing his condition to the best of our ability.

If you know Mark, or as we call him "Pops", you know that he is strong and full of life - but this disease has certainly taken a toll on him and his body. I am seeking help for he and my mother-in-law to help cover medical expenses, future treatment costs, and other living expenses during this challenging time. While we do not know what treatment will look like at this time, what we do know is that both of them will have to take extended periods off of work as needed causing further financial hardship.
