<div>I am seeking help for my daughter, Kylie, and her significant other, Mario, by raising funds to help cover costs for medical bills and travel expenses as they start Mario's treatment process for cancer.

<div>Mario was just recently diagnosed with what's called a Leiomyosarcoma. After having a near syncopal episode while at work, Mario soon found himself in the emergency department at HCMC in Minneapolis, MN. During the healthcare professionals' ultrasound examination on Mario, they found a large tumor in his abdomen. Mario's diagnosis is a rare type of sarcoma cancer, and doctors found it to be located growing off of Mario's inferior vena cava (a major blood vessel that returns blood to the heart) along with putting pressure on his liver, right kidney, and renal veins. Doctors have informed them that based on the location of growth, it makes this rare cancer even more rare. Mario was admitted at HCMC for further imaging and cardiac monitoring. Due to the type, location, size, and rarity of this cancer, Mario was referred to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. With many appointments and tests at the Mayo traveling time is increasing. This is in hopes for the doctors to better understand and prepare for how they are going to help Mario by coming up with a treatment plan as doctors from all over work together to provide Mario with the care he needs. Mario will be undergoing a very invasive surgery to get the tumor removed in the near future, which will include and lead to a long road of further testing, treatment, and recovery. Mario and Kylie will be traveling back and forth between home on the Iron Range and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

<div>Mario is the father of two amazing children who are 6 and 4 years old that both he and Kylie absolutely adore and love dearly. As for those of you who don't know Mario and Kylie, they also have three dogs that they love and that are always accompanying them wherever they may go. Mario and Kylie were just starting the process of moving and starting a life together. Mario also just started a new job in March at Hennepin EMS along with Kylie getting ready to attend college in the metro to further her education. Mario has been a first responder and public safety member as a firefighter and EMT/paramedic for 10 years. Kylie has also been an EMT for the last 2 years now, and both of them have given much of their time to their community by serving care and support to those who need them.

<div>With the amount of traveling and time away from work for both Mario and Kylie, it is now our turn to return that favor and help and support them during their time of need with their monthly bills, stacking medical expenses, and travel costs so that Mario can receive the care he needs. Every dollar will go straight to this lovely couple to provide them with the support they need during this trying time. No amount is too small, and every dollar is appreciated.
