Dear Friends of Marie Hendrix,
For those of you that would like to continue and support Marie Hendrix, a former student at Winters High School, we are reaching out to you through this Go Fund Me! In 2012 a drunk driver took Marie’s mobility away and forever changed her life, two weeks before graduation. She was unable to graduate with her class as the accident happened right before she was due to graduate. At graduation, WHS adorned her chair with her cap, gown and photo while she lay in a coma for months. When she finally came out of the coma, she was faced with the devastating news that she would be wheel chair bound. As an athlete at Winters High School, this was devastating to her and her family. In addition, this has financially put a burden on her father, Michael Hendrix, who is her primary and sole caregiver.
We want Marie and her father Michael to know that we will always be there for them and we still care a lot about them. They are family to us at WHS and the community of Winters and we would like to continue to support them in any way that we can. Michael and Marie have many medically related bills that still need attention because her care is constant. Any contributions you can make, would be greatly appreciated by us and Marie.
On a side note, anyone that has a vacation spot to share/donate, please let us know. A change of scenery for Michael and Marie, would be a great thing as they have never had a vacation. Marie spends most of her time at home; reading and surfing the Internet and she would love to get out of her house and see the ocean, or a lake, or a SF Giants Game, or Sacramento Kings, or any change of venue.
