For the past 15 years, I have been the sole caregiver for my parents. After my dad passed, my mom and I found a small home to start a new chapter together. But a terrible car accident left her with a traumatic brain injury, and now, after a long and heartbreaking journey, she is on hospice. 
 
To cover my mom’s end-of-life care, her savings must be used up due to Medicaid rules. This leaves me without the funds to pay our mortgage, utilities, and daily living expenses. I'm facing the prospect of losing the home we built together and being unable to afford to visit her in hospice. 
 
After 15 years of caregiving, I'm at a breaking point. I've sold everything of value, but I'm still not able to make ends meet. My biggest wish is to keep our home so I can be by my mom's side during her final months and have the stability to begin rebuilding my life after she is gone.
