<div>Our family wanted to share the tragic journey that our sister, Marcy Williams, is fighting through currently. She experienced a medical emergency in January 2024 (infection - necrosis fasciitis or flesh eating virus) which required a hip disarticulation (amputation of her left leg and hip). She also experienced a stroke during the period that she was undergoing multiple surgeries thereafter.

<div>Marcy is currently at her fourth medical facility since early January and as you can imagine, this experience has been devastating, emotional and overall exhausting on so many levels for Marcy, our entire family and all her close friends and co-workers. She has endured, beating the odds, and fought through not only the amputation but also ongoing multiple surgeries to care for the wound, which continues today. Marcy has always been so strong of mind, strong in faith and even in the toughest of times, finds the positive in everything and everyone. Family is of the utmost importance to her as she treasures her children and grandchildren and puts them first before herself at all times, rarely asking for help from family and friends. To see her suffer through so much pain and realizing she will have to face this life-altering situation moving forward, is heartbreaking. She will have so many hurdles and challenges ahead in making a new life for herself and we are all doing our best to stand by her and her children’s side to support and find resources to assist in this journey.

<div>Your contribution will help with the financial burden Marcy will face as a result of multiple medical facilities, multiple surgeries, specialized rehabilitation, needed medical equipment, mental health care, medications and ongoing treatments. She is a very social person, making lots of memories with her grandkids and she enjoyed her work as a motel manager on Amelia Island, making friends who also became like family. We continue to pray for God’s healing hands to support her through recovery and to provide a means to make more memories and have quality time with her family in the future.
