Hey yall, not really the kind to ask or beg, and didn’t really want to do this. About 2 months ago now my mama, Shelly, went to the hospital for what she thought was bronchitis turned pneumonia. For those that know her, going to the hospital means something is seriously wrong. So wrong that she felt like she just ran a marathon going from her bedroom to the bathroom. No air was reaching her lungs.
Shortly after getting to the hospital, she was diagnosed with a right lung full of pneumonia , and the left lung was almost completely full of a mass. After some tests they figured out it was small cell lung cancer.
Lung cancer on top of the pneumonia had her in the hospital for almost 2 weeks. That was 2 months ago. When she got out she was solely reliable on oxygen which made it to where she couldn’t work. Still can’t. Her doctor has not yet cleared her to go back to work and it’s been over a month so you can kind of see where I’m going with that. While this cancer is treatable, the lack of income is not.
that being said, her insurance ran out recently and bills are piling up. In between treatments, the PILE of medications she’s on, and multitude of drs visits…..we need help. We are all doing what we can, but I think we’re needing some extra helping hands.
thank you so much for reading this and thank you for loving our mom. Anyone who knows her, knows her as Mom, mama, YaYa, Ms. Shelly, etc. I don’t think I know a soul between all my siblings and myself that call her anything else. She’s resilient as all get out, strong like steel, and has pride the size of the sun. If you feel inclined to donate to help relieve some of the financial stress off of her, thank you. If you can’t, put her and us in your prayer list and give this a share to any platform you use. God bless.
