<div>On Tuesday, March 25th, Mallorie McGlothlin—a devoted 4th grade public school teacher and mother to three energetic boys—suffered a sudden ischemic stroke and was rushed to the hospital. Since then, she has also been diagnosed with aseptic meningitis and continues to battle severe inflammation. The stroke damaged the Broca’s area of her brain, affecting her ability to process language.

<div>Mallorie is now recovering at home but is far from out of the woods. She continues to experience painful headaches, a brain bleed, and a range of neurological symptoms that require close monitoring. Her medical team is currently performing weekly lumbar punctures to test her cerebrospinal fluid, as her white blood cell count remains alarmingly high.

<div>Due to the severity of her condition, Mallorie’s neurologist has extended her medical leave from working. She is unable to return to her classroom or to drive, and this sudden pause in both her career and daily life has placed a tremendous strain on her and her family.
</div>
<div>What makes this even more difficult is that Mallorie has exhausted her available leave days. The school district has begun docking her pay for every missed day—meaning that as she focuses on her health and healing, the financial burden continues to grow. Brandon, her loving and supportive husband, is doing everything he can to hold their family together during this incredibly challenging time.
