Hi Everyone! First and foremost, thank you for clicking this link to learn more about me and why I need your support to take my educational experience to a higher level. In this video, I first introduce myself, then explain the study abroad program, the cost, and why I need your help. I want to provide a summarized description below for those unable to listen to the video.
I am originally from San Diego, CA, and I am the first to go to a four-year university in my family. Without my family, I would not have gone this far in my academic career. I currently attend GSU, and I am a senior in the Public Health program and a student in the 4+1 Program. This program allows me to take graduate school credits, so when I graduate in December 2022 and receive my bachelor's degree, I will be at least a semester ahead in the Master's program. My goal is to become a health administrator and soon have my own clinic one day. It will focus on maternal and child health for all women and bridge the gap between African American women's health and those of other races. Going to Ghana will be a new experience since I have never traveled outside the United States. However, this new environment will pull me out of my comfort zone and shape me into a more experienced and well-rounded public health professional. In addition, the knowledge I will gain in Ghana will allow me to address the health disparities and inequities that are current within the United States and help me later build my clinics. Lastly, I will be providing screenshots of the program cost and description, so feel free to read over that. I also wanted to include an archival project that I completed last semester which focuses on women living with HIV/AIDS. Once again, I am grateful to everyone for taking the time to get to know me and my background. Every cent and dollar means the world to me!
