Hello, my name is Shannon! I'm the mother of 3 year old Malakai "Kai Kai". On September 12th, Malakai suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns to his face and chest due to hot water being spilled on him while making him something to eat. We don't know how long the hospital stay is, or even how long I'll have to be out of work to help him heal from his injuries. Doctors will discuss tomorrow September 15th if he will need a skin graph for his chest due to the severity of his burns. The mental toll, the financial toll, I'm just all around so broken. Making this was the most nauseating thing I've had to do, I don't like to ask for help or even feel like I'm begging and that's what this feels like. I just want to be here to allow my son to get better and not have to worry about the bills piling up due to being out of work. I have 2 other kids who i also need to be there for. If you can't donate, the prayers would work just as well thank you so much!

UPDATE : Malakai had series of blood work and an ultrasound done in September 14th. We've seen a number of doctors, and the whole burn team to discuss further treatment. On September 15th the kidney doctor informed us that Malakai's kidneys are not functioning at all how they should, he has numerous big cysts on both kidneys as expressed, he shouldn't have and are the size a 40+ year old adult should have. Also brought to our attention that he is in stage 4 renal failure, meaning he will need dialysis and possible kidney transplant. My baby is 3, he's been through so much in his little life. I've had to put in a Leave Of Absense to be home with my baby, and see where these treatments lead. Please keep praying for my strongwilled, loving baby boy.
