<div>On behalf of my sister, we are setting a GoFundMe account after receiving the worst news we could’ve ever received. Makayla, Sarah and Sue’s oldest daughter, was recently diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML).

<div>On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, Makayla was diagnosed with CML. This has affected the bone marrow in her arm, leg and back. This news has turned our world upside down. Thankfully the doctors said we caught it early enough and she can take chemotherapy via outpatient medications. However, she is still at Valley Children’s because her labs are very unstable. As of now, we are unsure how long she will be here. She has been in a lot of pain and has been feeling very fatigued. She doesn’t have enough energy to eat or to shower, but we’re hopeful that she’ll start to feel better soon and more like herself. We ask that you all continue to keep her in your prayers.

<div>With Makayla’s sudden illness, this is a huge setback for both of her parents. Both her mom and dad have to take unexpected time off work, and are unsure of how they will be able to afford the hospital bills. Considering we do not know how long she will be hospitalized, we do not know exactly how this will impact the family financially.

<div>Makayla is a 15 year old girl, who loves k-pop, sushi and Sanrio. She is a witty, kind, thoughtful and silly girl. She is the oldest of 4, sister to Mason, Maverick and Madison. She is currently a sophomore at Mt. Whitney High, and has dreams of going into the healthcare field.
