<div>I’m posting on behalf of my dear friend Makayla, a loving single mom, small business owner, and full-time caregiver doing everything she can to care for her two sons — 2-year-old Preston and 14-year-old Caiden.

<div>In late May, Preston suddenly began experiencing concerning neurological symptoms, including severe balance issues (ataxia), episodes that resembled seizures, and extreme fatigue. Despite multiple ER visits, hospital stays, and a full panel of tests — including MRIs, spinal tap, EEGs, and more — his diagnosis remains unclear. While doctors believe the most dangerous possibilities have been ruled out, Preston continues to struggle daily.

<div>He now attends physical therapy twice a week, sees multiple specialists, and undergoes ongoing testing. When he’s not at appointments, he’s in daycare so that Makayla can try to work. She’s deeply grateful to have Preston’s dad actively involved and supportive — but as Preston’s primary caregiver, she’s incredibly observant and often picks up on subtle changes or patterns others may not notice. That instinct makes it very hard to be away from him for long stretches.

<div>At the same time, Makayla is also raising her teenage son Caiden, who’s about to transition from middle to high school — a crucial and delicate time in a young person’s life. She’s committed to keeping him supported and on the right path while managing the emotional and logistical demands of her younger son’s care.

<div>She is passionate about her work as a massage therapist and goes in every chance she gets — but the reality is that frequent medical appointments, urgent calls, and time needed to be fully present for both boys has caused a serious financial strain.
</div>

<div>We’re asking for help to provide:
