<div>It all started in early September when I began experiencing inflammation. By September 20, I developed a high fever of 104°F and low blood pressure. Around the beginning of October, small bumps started appearing on my right breast, and they began producing pus. I was hospitalized for two weeks, during which doctors cleaned out all the infected areas on my chest.

<div>After being discharged, I was home for about a week and felt okay—but soon after, the bumps and pus came back. Since then, I’ve been in constant pain and have visited five different hospitals in Los Angeles. Despite all the tests and procedures and being poked more than 60 times the doctors still haven’t found the cause of my infection.

<div>Because of this, my mother decided to take me to a doctor in Tijuana, Mexico. The doctors there have been helping me and closely monitoring my infection. They determined that I need surgery to open my breast and find out what’s causing the recurring problem. The surgery is scheduled for November 15, and it will cost between $4,000 and $9,000 (cash).

<div>Todo comenzó a principios de septiembre, cuando empecé a sufrir inflamación. El 20 de septiembre, desarrollé fiebre alta (40 °C) e hipotensión arterial. A principios de octubre, empezaron a aparecer pequeños bultos en mi pecho derecho, que comenzaron a producir pus. Estuve hospitalizada durante dos semanas, durante las cuales los médicos limpiaron todas las zonas infectadas de mi pecho.

<div>Después de que me dieron el alta, estuve en casa durante una semana y me sentí bien, pero poco después, los bultos y el pus volvieron a aparecer. Desde entonces, he tenido un dolor constante y he visitado cinco hospitales diferentes en Los Ángeles. A pesar de todas las pruebas y procedimientos, y de que me han pinchado más de 60 veces, los médicos aún no han encontrado la causa de mi infección.

<div>Por eso, mi madre decidió llevarme a un médico en Tijuana, México. Los médicos de allí me han estado ayudando y vigilando de cerca mi infección. Determinaron que necesito una cirugía para abrir mi pecho y descubrir qué está causando el problema recurrente. La cirugía está programada para el 15 de noviembre y costará entre 4000 y 9000 dólares (en efectivo).
