Covid-19 abruptly, unexpectedly changed life as we know it. Like so many of you, we were tremendously affected by the fallout of this pandemic. One of the most drastic challenges has been to ensure that Mackenzie still receives a good education, in this most crucial year of high school. As a high school junior, Mackenzie's expectations were shattered.
Her School District, like so many others, shuttered. They had no plan in place for effective Distance Learning. It took nearly a month for the district to open up their distance learning "school".
As a mother, my main concern is that my daughter grows up happy, healthy, and whole. That includes her education.
Mackenzie’s new school experienced a reduction in financial support, while increasing the aid for many of their current students. The out of pocket cost for her to attend is $40,000. This is where we are asking for your help. As many of you know, I work in the entertainment industry, which has shuttered. While I have committed much of my savings to fund this endeavor, it is not enough. I humbly ask for your support.
