Support Lyric's Journey: 'From Tragedy to Track'

Story

Hi, I am Kayla and on behalf of Lyric and our family, we would like to thank you for all of your prayers, words of encouragement, and support with Lyric's track journey! This year, she qualified again in two of her events for the Junior Olympics; however, this year it is held in Houston, TX. We need your support. No donation is too small or too large. All proceeds will go towards the trip to the Junior Olympics. Any remaining donations will go towards future track expenses, such as travel, lodging, food, track fees, transportation, equipment, uniforms, and/or other track-related expenses for Lyric and our family. This has been a blessed journey and we hope, with your help, we can get our girl to the track in Texas in July to compete in the largest event of the season! Back story: As you know, Lyric's story goes a little deeper than just track, as she was diagnosed with osteomyelitis in her hip and spine in 2021 and she had to relearn how to walk again. After 11 days of hospitalization that resulted in IVs, blood draws, antibiotics, ultrasound, testing, etc., she was healed and released in good health. She tried out for various sports over the next few years, but unfortunately, Lyric was rejected by the volleyball and the cheerleading team. Last year, in 2024, Lyric started her track journey unexpectedly. She decided to try out for the school track team and was chosen. She also joined an AAU Track team shortly after. Since starting, Lyric has received several medals, mentions, news articles, news interviews, and also qualified for the Junior Olympics in 2024 held in Greensboro, NC, her parents' alma mater where she aspires to run track in college. Lyric's journey, "From Tragedy To Track", has reached and inspired hundreds and thousands locally and across the nation on social media. Your help, whether through prayer, donation, or by sharing her gofundme link and testimony is greatly appreciated. We are confident that she can go, "From Healing to Houston" with your help! With love, Lyric's family
