<div>Our dear friend <strong>Lukasz has been battling cancer for the last year</strong>. Originally diagnosed last year with Mantle Cell Lymphoma, after many doctor's appointments with specialists to determine what was going on with his declining health. Soon after his diagnosis he had some hospital stays and radiation treatments and was feeling great after a few months! After Christmas, Lukasz started with a bad cough and thought he could have the flu. Magda, his wife, and he headed to urgent care to get him checked out. This was when a chest x-ray revealed a large mass in his chest next to his heart. Lukasz was transferred to the hospital immediately where doctors gave Magda and Lukasz devastating news, a new cancer diagnosis—Primary Mediastinal B-cell Lymphoma. He has started an aggressive chemotherapy treatment plan at Penn University Hospital where he is still currently, and hoping to be released in a few days. Lukasz will continue with chemotherapy till May. He will need to spend 5 days in Penn University Hospital during these treatments. These sessions will be every 15 days until May.

<div>This long road to recovery has created and will continue to be a very large emotional and financial burden on the Pikor family. His wife Magda is by his side daily, while his son Max cares for his sisters Emily and Michelle while Magda is at the hospital.

<div>Nasz drogi przyjaciel<strong> Łukasz od roku walczy z rakiem</strong>. Początkowo zdiagnozowano u niego chłoniaka z komórek płaszczowych po wielu wizytach u specjalistów mających na celu ustalenie przyczyn pogarszającego się stanu zdrowia. Wkrótce po diagnozie przeszedł leczenie w szpitalu i radioterapię, po czym przez kilka miesięcy czuł się świetnie! Po świętach Bożego Narodzenia Łukasz zaczął kaszleć i myślał że ma grypę. Razem z żoną Magdą udali się do przychodni aby się zbadać. Tam prześwietlenie klatki piersiowej wykazało duży guz w klatce piersiowej obok serca. Łukasz został natychmiast przewieziony do szpitala gdzie lekarze przekazali Magdzie i Łukaszowi druzgocącą wiadomość – nową diagnozę raka: pierwotny chłoniak śródpiersiowy z komórek B.

<div>Łukasz rozpoczął agresywną chemioterapię w szpitalu Uniwersytetu Pensylwanii, gdzie obecnie przebywa i ma nadzieję że zostanie wypisany za kilka dni. Łukasz będzie kontynuował chemioterapię do maja. Podczas tych zabiegów będzie musiał spędzać 5 dni w szpitalu Uniwersytetu Pensylwanii. Sesje będą odbywać się co 15 dni.
