Loyd is battling stage IV metastatic melanoma, a diagnosis that has completely changed his life and the lives of those who care about him. The treatments he needs are extensive, physically demanding, and emotionally exhausting. Because of the severity of his illness, Loyd is unable to work, and his family is struggling to keep up with the mounting medical bills and daily living expenses. To make matters even more difficult, his wife, Angela, is in remission from breast cancer after her own battle a few years ago, which included many complications. She recently lost her job, leaving them with even fewer resources to rely on during this critical time.
