It all began...
It all began about a year and a half ago when John started to get migraines. He went to the family doctor who then prescribed migraine medication. After still having them with more occurrence, and now with blurred vision, our primary referred John to an optometrist who gave John a newer prescription. Fast forward a few more months and John is having what he believed to be "ocular migraines" - he would see halos, auras, visions, in front of his normal sight. John finally had enough when the absolute worst could have happened...he was behind the wheel taking Matthew to school and he lost is vision. John pulled over, composed himself, was able to get Matthew to school safely. He called me to come home and take him to the ER. That's when they completed the MRI and we heard those four words..."glad you came in."
Since then, John has endured radiation and chemo, has been placed on a 5 times a month chemo regimen, has compromised vision, and lost his job. To say the past 6 months have been a challenge is an understatement. Last week, an MRI revealed another spot on his brain. There is no blood flow to this new spot, which is a good sign, but this means that he will need monthly MRIs to keep an eye on any growth or blood flow. The bills from Jefferson Hospital are starting to pile up and his former employer is fighting to NOT pay unemployment benefits. Any help you can give so that this family can focus on achieving good health and not their mountain of bills is greatly appreciated.
