<div>On June 3, 2026, Governor Jeff Landry vetoed Senate Bill 125, a bipartisan bill that passed unanimously through the legislature and would have modestly increased compensation for innocent people wrongfully convicted and imprisoned in Louisiana. This veto is a grave injustice, but it also causes an immediate crisis for 10 exonerees in Louisiana who depend on their compensation payments to survive.

<div>Greg Bright, who lost more than 27 years to wrongful conviction;

<div>Dennis Brown, who lost nearly 20 years;
</div>
<div>Glenn Davis, who lost more than 15 years;
</div>
<div>Larry Delmore, who lost more than 15 years;
</div>
<div>Doug DiLosa, who lost 14 years;
</div>
<div>Henry James, who lost nearly 30 years;
</div>
<div>Willie Jackson, who lost 17 years;
</div>
<div>Anthony Johnson, who lost more than 22 years
</div>
<div>Rickey Johnson, who lost 25 years; and
</div>
<div>Earl Truvia, who lost more than 27 years.

<div>The State of Louisiana sent these men to prison for crimes they didn’t commit for a combined 211 years. Because of Landry’s veto, they are being compensated for less than half of that time.
