Fall 2019, The Coffee Class opened their doors for the first time; Seeking to reinforce, and innovate the expectations of the coffee scene in Las Vegas. Kyle Cunningham, Vegas native, real estate agent and coffee enthusiast, had a genuine vision for our business. With careful planning, Kyle successfully assembled a leadership team of passionate, creative, hardworking individuals that were able to help make his dream a reality.
Executive Chef & Manager, Beth Ryan-Small, has a fiery conviction to continue giving Las Vegas an elevated food menu in the cafe setting. Previously working with world-class chefs such as Wolfgang Puck and Emeril Lagasse, Beth elected to move away from the strip, stay true to her culinary creativity, and continue to grow in her love of independent businesses. Her scratch-made cuisine and pastries have played a critical role in our growth as a business.
Coffee Program Director & Manager, Patrick Cantu, is our residential coffee guru. Hailing all the way from Atlanta, GA, he took a leap of faith in moving to Las Vegas to design our coffee program. Being in the coffee industry for over 6 years as a Barista and Roaster, Patrick is determined to continue leading our team, and to continue sharing his passion for coffee. While still working as a Roaster at Blackbird Coffee in middle Georgia, Patrick also spent the past two years as a full time school teacher; teaching Elementary Special Education, and Secondary Art. He declined to renew his contract with the school to pursue a professional career in the coffee industry. Since moving, The Coffee Class has become as much of a dream to him as it is to Kyle.
Manager, Tyler Baker, chose to leave Starbucks to turn towards high-quality, specialty coffee. Tyler has a strong record of restaurant management, consistently supports our team, and helps to maintain a healthy cafe environment. His selfless contribution of time, and effort has played a pivotal role in our success thus far.
Additionally, we are extremely grateful for our dependable supporting staff: Audrey, Bonnie, Casey, Celia, Christina, Juliana, Kylelain, Leanne, Maggie, Sadie, and Whitney. The Coffee Class would not have gotten this far without each and every one of you.
Upon our 6-month milestone, not too long ago, The Coffee Class was beginning to truly thrive. During these unsure times, we are asking for your continued support.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of our young, growing business, our employees are not able to receive compensation at this time.
This campaign is primarily purposed to assist our employees through the global turmoil caused by COVID-19. Though it is incredibly easy to give in to any doubt or negativity, we remain hopeful. We trust, and feel fortunate that we can lean on such a wonderful community that we have had the opportunity to love, connect with, and serve. Above all, we are looking forward to opening our doors once again when this situation improves. This is not our final stop.
Any donation is beyond appreciated, and will help ensure the continued success of The Coffee Class. Thank you for supporting small local businesses!
