Indy Politics is locally owned, Indianapolis-based, and answerable only to this community—not to a boardroom in New York or Atlanta. While out-of-state chains swallow up local newsrooms and point their remaining reporters toward content that plays in forty markets at once, we're still here covering the stories that only matter to Hoosiers. And we've broken some good ones lately. We were first to report that an announcement was expected on the Chicago Bears relocating to Hammond—one of the biggest economic development stories in state history. We exposed the Secretary of State's office notary fiasco that forced candidates across Indiana to scramble and refile. We dug into the polling that showed most Hoosiers—including many Republicans—wanted no part of Governor Braun's redistricting special session. And we uncovered language buried inside the Hammond stadium bill that could dramatically slow down the controversial Mid-States Corridor highway project in southern Indiana.
