The strongest woman I know is my sister, Lindsey.

Like so many of us, Lindsey juggles the relentless demands of everyday life—working full time, raising children, and giving everything she has to the people who depend on her. She pours her heart into her family, her kids, and her students, striving every day to live a life rooted in purpose and service.

Now imagine doing all of that while living in constant, agonizing pain.

Lindsey does.

She fights for her family.

She fights for her students.

She fights for her children.

And she does it every single day.

Today, I am sitting beside her hospital bed as she recovers from her eighth brain surgery. I hold her hand, wipe her tears, and try to reassure her—encouraging her to do the one thing her doctors are pleading with her to do: rest and recover.

But that is easier said than done.

Lindsey’s mind is heavy with worry. Her family relies on her. Her students rely on her. Her job, her responsibilities, and especially the financial burden of medical care are weighing on her heart at the very moment she needs peace the most.

How does someone heal when they’re consumed by stress over how the bills will be paid?

Our deepest wish is to lift that weight from her shoulders.

If we can take care of even one of her worries—if we can ease the financial strain—then maybe, just maybe, Lindsey can give herself permission to rest. To heal. To recover fully and come back stronger than ever.
