<div>My close pals know that for decades I've suffered debilitating menstrual cramps, including episodes of passing out on the sidewalk and needing to be dragged into a post office, fainting in a Starbucks bathroom, and learning over time that during these episodes I am not safe to drive a car and leaving the house is pointless. If it is "that time", friends know I will not be available at all and for a few days each month I have to suffer pain that is indescribable to those who do not share the same condition.

<div>This pain is due to a few causes, and finally, after two decades, I can get the hysterectomy that will free me from monthly suffering. It is a major surgery involving removal of an entire organ and insurance will only partially cover it (if at all -- still waiting for a verdict).

<div>All said, the bill will come in roughly around $5000-$7000. The surgery was approved quickly, which is great, but that leaves little time to prepare financially. On top of this, I am also a potential candidate for a full mastectomy due to high risk of breast cancer (will find out more on that in a few months.. fun!). On top of THAT, I am still paying for a surgery last year that removed two lumps, one pre-cancerous, that insurance did not deem important enough to cover.

<div>If you have the means and want to donate anything possible to a woman finally taking back control of her life and to end decades of suffering, it would mean the world to me and be one less burden at this time of extremely high anxiety. All people should be able to get life changing and life saving surgeries without needing a community's help to fund it, but we as a society in the USA are not at that point yet.
