The 32nd Istanbul LGBTI+ Pride Week, a significant milestone in our community's history, is just around the corner!

This year, the 32nd Istanbul Pride Week, with its poignant theme 'I Remember, Do You Remember?', invites us all to reflect on our journey and the challenges we've overcome.

Every year, Istanbul Pride changes its theme; some of the previous themes were “Beware of the Family!”, “Taboo,” “Memory,” “Contact,” “Normal?”, “We Unite!”, “Where am I?”, “What is Economy?” and “The Street” in recent years.

Once again this year, in addition to the forums, panel discussions, and events addressing issues such as health, visibility, and constitutional rights central to the agenda of the LGBTI+ movement, we will also discuss how we can build a political sense of solidarity and how we can find alternative ways to achieve this, despite the state’s evergrowing oppression.

To reach out to each other, heal our wounds, and talk about our experiences, bodies, and emotions, we will come together at workshops and celebrate our solidarity at parties. Like every year, we will vote and elect this year’s hate speech champions among your nominations at the 21st "Genetically Modified Tomatoes" ceremony. For Pride Week, we will extend our rebellion with our comrades from other cities. We will continue spreading throughout the city and shout aloud, "We are here, we always have been here, and we’re not leaving!

We are immensely grateful for the support we've received from LGBTI+ communities and allies in the past. In the last couple of years, apart from the GoFundMe crowdfunding, the only way for us to get financial support was for Pre-Pride parties. However, due to the lack of LGBTI+-friendly venues in the aftermath of COVID-19 and extreme state pressure, we are not able to host parties like we used to. Also, our community and many activists are still facing extreme poverty, and even when we host the Pre-Pride parties, activists are not able to help us financially. We hope to facilitate the committee's sustainability with your help.
