<div>Lexy has been battling chronic illness for years, but the last three have been the most devastating yet. Despite endless doctor visits and treatments, her health has continued to decline. Over the past year, things have reached an unimaginable point—she is now dependent and receives her nutrition through TPN (total parenteral nutrition) after trialing feeding tubes and failing. She has been trying new medications, receiving blood transfusions and iron infusions, and enduring an exhausting number of tests as doctors work tirelessly to find answers.

<div>She has spent more than a year in the hospital, and while medical insurance helps with some of the treatment costs, the expenses outside of that—parking, food, gas, bills, and more—are piling up quickly. These are the hidden costs of being sick that most people never think about, but they add up to an overwhelming burden.
