Support Les and Denise After Home Loss

On the evening of July 17, a nasty thunderstorm rolled through the upstate of SC and unfortunately created LOTS of lightening that found its way to the home of some very dear friends of mine, Mr. Les Kimmons and his lovely bride, Denise.

These are some of the kindest and most generous folks around and they have been such a solid and productive family in the community.

After the strike, 911 was called immediately and within 30 minutes, there were over 15 firetrucks on site working in terrible conditions to put out the fire that would eventually total their home of nearly 30 years along with most of their belongings.

As grateful as they are for the fire being put out, the aftermath is now both fire AND water damage so essentially, what the fire didn’t get, the water did. At the end of the day, we are grateful that everyone is safe but almost literally, ALL of their possessions are gone.

We went in after the fire departments left and as we combed through the charred and soaked rubble, we were able to find some more things like pictures and medicine and such but all in all, it’s pretty much a total loss.

All that said, these funds will be helpful to the family to purchase immediate needs like clothing, hygiene items, and hopefully help cover any other immediate needs while they navigate insurance and all that stuff.

Please consider giving but more than your money, your prayers are appreciated for contentment and peace. Houses can be replaced but homes are only made with time and there were LOTS of memories and memorabilia that can never be replaced and that is a heavy thing for a family that raised their children in that home.

They are in good spirits and are surrounded by lots of good folks but this would really be a blessing to them so please, consider giving to help this sweet family through this tragedy.
