Support Leonard's Medical Fund
Donation protected
Leonard has always been someone who is there to help others. He is always the first person to lend a hand to someone in need and now he needs our help.
As many of you may or may not know, about a month or so ago my step-father,Leonard, was diagnosed suddenly with a tumor in his abdomin (in the intestines) that was not cancerous but rather had a very rare infection inside of it. (the infection is SO rare the surgeon has NEVER operated on anyone with this type of bacteria before) Len had one minor procedure a month ago to drain the infection and This week he has had a successful major surgery to remove the softball size tumor. He will have to receive a series of IV antibiotics at home (in his PICC line- which is kind of Like a special IV for home) along with several home nurse and doctor visits over the next six months.
Many of his treatments will only be partially covered by his insurance but are a complete necessity for life sustaining measures. Since he also has to have a central line, (picc line or port) he cannot do any part time work, leaving my mother to pay all the bills and close out their camp in Sacandaga alone. His medical bills for the IV medication alone is expected to be $2,000 (which isn't including the home nurses to inject, clean the port etc.) This go fund me account is to help with the medical expenses and any bills related to being unable to work (even tho he was retired he was still working part time jobs here and there) Also if you are handy and would like to volunteer time to help close out the camp please email me (Jaime) Thank you for all your help!
