Support Leon's Return to Health

Hey, everyone: Our friend Leon needs help. After decades of hard work both as an employee and a volunteer in the St. Louis community and beyond, particularly in support of the LGBTQIA community, she recently has been unable to work for weeks at a time and faces more periods of enforced rest ahead. This not only is emotionally challenging for someone who is accustomed to being on the go. It puts her in a serious financial bind.

Leon has volunteered at or raised money for the Saint Louis AIDS Foundation, Food Outreach, Power of One, the American Heart Association, SAGE, Bethany’s Place, the Alzheimer’s Association, St. Louis Effort for AIDS, the Gateway Men’s Chorus, PROMO, the Human Rights Campaign and countless other organizations. Since January she has been treated for a life-threatening heart condition, which has included extensive hospital time. Despite having health insurance, she now faces medical bills and prescription co-pays in addition to rent, phone, transportation to and from work when she is able to go, etc. Let's help someone who so willingly helps others.
