Dear fans and friends of Left Bank,
We are humbly coming to you today to say that the effects of quarantine and COVID-19 have finally reached us. Three months ago we held a massive (free) online festival, despite our parents saying it should be charged, and now we are facing the decision of having to scale back our efforts and temporarily lay off our staff.
Left Bank Magazine has always been self-funded, save for a few pennies on the dollar we make from Submithub, but due to circumstances in our Founder's life, she hasn't been able to maintain the constant upkeep—or pay to keep our 10+ writers on staff. We made do, as anyone does, but now we are having to make really big decisions about the future of the site.
We've been around for 6+ years, and have hosted concerts from New York to London, shared thousands of artists on our website and YouTube, and are now kindly ask for your (very small) support. We know how much the music industry is hurting, which is why we waited and waited—trying to see if there was another alternative. Point blank: we don't want to lay off another valuable staff member, and your generosity would keep them on the team.
