Support Lauren's Life-Saving Liver Surgery

Our beautiful, fun loving, faith following friend who is always bouncing around with her bubbly fun personality, baking goodies for friends and family. The one person that no matter what is always there for everyone else, even if she is silently suffering now needs our help! Whether it be through prayer, signing up on a list for meals or dog sitting. All are so helpful.

However, right now her & her husband are in need of financial assistance. She would never ask for money herself, in fact they have been baking to try to raise money! She can hardly function on some days and yet she still try’s to ease their looming medical expenses.

Lauren was diagnosed with

Autoimmune Hepatitis of the Liver. Stage 4 (end stage liver disease)

Her immune system has attacked her liver and killed it. It literally attacks her blood coming out of the liver. She has suffered with this for almost 7 years now.

The symptoms are immense abdominal pain, severe joint pain, jaundice, swelling of the abdomen (she has had to be drained of fluid numerous times) in order to allow her body to keep fighting!

She is officially off steroids today in order to prep for the April 22nd surgery date.

Thank the Lord that her beloved husband Jarrod is a perfect match via blood and size of his liver! Through those tests & travel alone & having to be admitted several times to the hospital, they have already incurred major medical expenses.

Everything has divinely lined up. How special that her own husband will be able to save her life! However, this means he will also endure surgery and lost wages. Their recovery time will be about 3 months. At that point there is still a 20% chance her body will attack Jarrod's half of the liver, however it should be able to give her at least another 10 good years of life in case she should need another transplant. This surgery is NOT ELECTIVE or self inflicted. With this auto immune disease, this is a LIFE SAVING SURGERY!

Raising funds for medical expenses is a necessity as this will be a 1.5 million dollar surgery if not more. This does not include money for transportation, items such as after care visits to San Antonio, staying the night in hotel rooms if needed during those visits, gas, food, aftercare once they get home. As well as funds to ensure that their insurance deductible is met for 2025. 

We are praying that a spot opens up prior to the April surgery date as she truly has been suffering. She hides it well, but I personally know she is still working even if she has to nap or even working from hospital rooms! This girl may be tiny, however she is a great warrior with the purest of souls!
