Our dear friend, Lauren, is facing an incredibly challenging season. Lauren is halfway through her pregnancy, and her husband Mike is undergoing intensive cancer treatment. The medication is taking a toll on Mike’s body, mind, and spirit, making it difficult for him to be the dad he wants to be. With finances stretched thin from medical expenses and Lauren preparing for maternity leave from her work as a musician, the family is in urgent need of extra support. Their 3.5-year-old daughter, Violet, may also need additional care and comfort as she navigates the transition of welcoming a new sibling during such a stressful time.

 Funds raised will go directly toward birth and postpartum doula services, providing Lauren with both daytime and overnight support. This will ensure she isn’t left to manage everything alone—caring for Violet, a newborn, breastfeeding, her own self-care, supporting Mike, and keeping up with daily tasks. The support may also extend to childcare for Violet and potentially a nanny after the doula’s services are complete. Lauren experienced postpartum depression and mastitis after Violet’s birth, so having the right help this time is vital for her and her family’s well-being.
