My Dad Larry has been on the uphill battle with his health Journey Since August 2024 where he fell into ICU after being diagnosed with Stage 3 Rectal cancer. He caught Covid in the miss of things and by the grace of God he survived. After that somethings were never the same. He did the Treatments, he went to his appointments, and has lived at the hospital since with one appointment after another.

Fast Forward to the end of June 2025 and he goes in for a 6 month update. His PET showed he needed further intervention. He then has started transfusions once a week since. Cancer hasn’t been his only obstacle yet he’s chose to fight for life.

This last week he’s been in and out of the hospital for various things. Saturday went great, we had a game plan for Rehab to help with physical therapy transferring out sometime Monday. Sunday night my dad had a Heart Attack which lead to him coding. This was very unexpected. He is now on a ventilator fighting for his life.

He has made it throughout the night and that alone is a Praise Report. He is a fighter and will fight until he can’t anymore. I don’t know what the future holds for my dad but I do know we’ll face whatever comes our way with grace knowing he’s in the best hands.

After speaking with the Funeral home for future reference and starting to make payments again for the future , I can’t believe how much is cost these days. Unfortunately we’ve battled having no insurance company cover my dad the last year so all end of life expenses will be out of pocket. We are working with SMB to set up a local donation account as well. All of us taking time off will be unpaid. Him being my mom’s provider leaves my mom with nothing. If you’ve ever met my dad you know he’s a golden retriever. He has a heart of GOLD. He loves Jesus, his family, and animals. Most of all, his Grandchild is his world! Larry served in the NAVY, worked for the union Welding for many years, and has since been at home soaking up family love the last few years! What a heck of a man!
