<div>In January, my nephew Landon was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL). The news was devastating. Landon quickly began the first phase of his treatment plan: four weeks of intensive chemotherapy, which will be followed by weekly chemotherapy sessions for about 6 months. They expect this to be followed by monthly sessions for at least a year and a half, but nothing is completely predictable. This diagnosis has turned my sister Kate, her husband Uriah, and their family's world upside down. They now spend hours on the road, trading off to be by Landon's side as he receives care from specialists at The Children’s Hospital of Oakland. The emotional and logistical challenges have been overwhelming, but their love and determination never waver.

<div>Landon is a silly, creative, and strong kid – and he is lucky to be in this family, and to have an incredible extended community in his school, his scout troop, his baseball league, and his School of Rock family! While Kate and Uriah do have health insurance, it will never be enough to cover the full financial burden they now face. The costs of medical care, travel, lodging, medications, and supplies to keep Landon comfortable once he is able to move back home are staggering. On top of that, both parents are taking time off work to care for Landon and support Landon's brother, Evan, through this difficult time. The financial strain is immense, and they need help to focus on what matters most: Landon's treatment and recovery, and their family's well-being.
