<div>Lacey was diagnosed with breast cancer in August of 2025. At this point, she has been diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. The next steps are working through a CT scan, MRI brain scan, ECHO, etc, to see if it has spread to other parts of her body. Lacey is working through the logistics of health insurance to fast-track this testing and scanning process along with seeking a second opinion from MD Anderson out of Houston, which will require additional scans along with a potential treatment plan being carried out in Texas.

<div>Once these body imaging scans are complete, then chemotherapy will start immediately, which as of now will be a chemo treatment every three weeks that will last 5-6 months, and at that point she will go forward with a double mastectomy.

<div>At this point, she is hoping to be working through the end of field season which will end likely in November.

<div>She will soon begin treatment and we hope to be able to support her financially as her friends, family, co-workers, and as a community. Lacey’s job is physically demanding and not guaranteed to continue in the winter as she is a contracted worker. We want her to be able to take time away from work, as needed, when needed, to be able to rest and heal as she battles against this cancer.
