<div>Please read the update below.  They say it takes a village. I'm asking for our village, our army, our family and friends to help me in raising funds for my daughter in her journey living with Epilepsy. <strong>Kye is 25 years old and has been living with Epilepsy since the young age of 2 1/2 years old.</strong> Kye went through all her school years dealing and struggling emotionally, mentally, and at times we struggled financially as a family to make sure that we had the medications she needed. Through every challenge, she has pushed on. Kye graduated from SUNY Oswego State College, NY with a Bachelor of Psychology and Native American Studies. She pushed and never gave up on her education. COVID did not stop her, but since college, her seizures have become very irregular and unpredictable even with normal medication. Kye has been in and out of the hospital more frequently within this past year. <strong>Recently, uncontrolled seizures have interrupted her life and have made it difficult to work regularly.</strong>

<div>Kye has been working with a wonderful team of neurologists and specialists to try to get a handle on what is going on. They are trying to pinpoint the complex focal epilepsy (seizures in one area of the brain). Recent EEGs, EKGs, CAT Scans, VEEGs, and two hospital stays have helped to find a more precise area of the brain where her seizures are stemming from. Kye has had continued breakthrough seizures and complications which resulted in emergency room visits, ambulance rides, and we are looking to help raise money for a few procedures that she will be having in the near future. There is more testing to be done, one of which is Stereoencephalography (SEEG), a surgical procedure used to identify deep areas in the brain where difficult-to-treat epileptic seizures begin. This is to help determine if Kye will be eligible to receive targeted treatment, such as responsive neurostimulation that delivers stimulation where seizures start (possible VNS) or even surgery to remove brain cells that cause seizures.

<div>Although Kye has been struggling with Epilepsy pretty much her entire life, the seizures have changed and have been affecting her quality of life. She has missed work and is trying to get a handle on her medical bills as well as continuing to pay for her student loans, rent, bills, and especially the upcoming medical bills that will be piling up from the ER visits and future procedures, knowing she will be missing work for said procedures. <strong>The end result could be life-changing and improve her quality of life and give Kye a chance for some normalcy in her life.</strong> We are asking for any help possible and would appreciate if family and friends share this fundraiser as well. All donations raised will be used towards current and future hospital bills, the final surgery and transportation to and from appointments as Kye does not have a vehicle or driver's license.
