<div>We’re reaching out during one of the most critical moments of our lives. Kurt, our husband, father, Bubba and friend to all is currently in surgery undergoing a double lung transplant — a life-saving procedure that we’ve prayed and hoped for over many long months of testing, procedures and numerous trips to Boston.

<div>Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we recently held a benefit dinner and were able to raise some much-needed funds. We’re deeply grateful for every donation, every plate served, and every kind word shared during that time. Your support helped make this transplant possible.

<div>But now, we face the next major hurdle: the long road to recovery.

<div>While the transplant surgery itself is covered in part by insurance, the post-operative costs are extensive and ongoing. These include:

<div>✅ A mandatory long-term stay near the transplant center (often several months)

</div>

<div>✅ Anti-rejection medications and ongoing medical care

</div>

<div>✅ Travel, lodging, and food expenses for both Kurt and Vicki.
