Support Kristin Thomas' Family Post-Hurricane Helene

Hi there! I am raising funds for Kristin Thomas and her family who reside in Asheville and are attempting to navigate life post-Hurricane Helene. While they have their home, they have no power or water for the foreseeable future. Funds will be transferred directly to Kristin’s account.

Kristin is self-employed with her jewelry business and her husband works in hospitality. While their home was spared, they must navigate their typical busy season where they make most of their income in a town that was obliterated by the storm. Kristin is doing what she can to make ends meet; however, the reality is that she is navigating life with no power, water, showers, and heat. Life is harder now, leaving limited time for her business.

Typically, her Halloween jewelry sales would support her holiday business purchases. It is now mid-October. With her limited stock, having to shut down her business temporarily, and logistical challenges, this will impact her ability to generate income needed for materials for the holiday season.

Kristin and I grew up together. She was my first best friend. I know that while she is an incredibly humble and independent person who hates to ask for help in any capacity, this is weighing so heavy on her.

I'm hoping we can help to support her through this time with increased financial demands that come with kerosene heating, purchasing food/water, increased gas costs associated with transportation needed to do laundry and showering, all while attempting to figure out how to navigate life post-Helene and the long-term challenges that will impact their household income.

Any bit you can contribute would go directly to her. Reducing the stress associated with all of this will give them some time to essentially survive these upcoming challenging months. I know if I were in her position, I would need the help and support. While many of us dont know what to do to help her… this will ensure she can worry less during this difficult time. I also know she will help others however she can.
