Hello, my name is Krianna Varsha Roopnarine and I am a 31-year-old primary school teacher from Trinidad and Tobago. I have dedicated my life to shaping young minds and helping students realize their potential, but now I am facing a challenge that requires me to ask for help.

In March 2022, my world imploded as I was diagnosed with stage 2B Hodgkin's and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, which are blood cancers in the lymphatic system. From my initial diagnosis, I decided to do whatever it takes to beat this disease and with the help of my doctor, I started undergoing treatment. I have endured a long and hard road through various treatments to try to overcome this disease, but none have been successful in fully curing me.

So far, I have undergone 6 cycles of RCHOP chemotherapy, 2 cycles of ABVD chemotherapy, 2 cycles of Escalated BEACOPP chemotherapy, and 20 sessions of targeted radiation therapy. Even after all of these treatments and managing all the side effects, both physical and emotional, the cancer remains.

My condition has worsened, and even with my current course of treatment, which is 3 cycles of GDP chemotherapy, my doctors have determined that a stem cell bone marrow transplant is my only hope for survival. This procedure, however, is not available in Trinidad and Tobago, so I have reached out to Fortis Memorial Research Institute in New Delhi, India, who has reviewed my case and agreed to undertake the procedure.

The cost of the treatment has been estimated at US$100,000.00, which includes the transplant, travel, and post-operative care. While my family and I are doing our best to raise funds through various means, this amount is far beyond what we can afford on our own.

This is why I am compelled to turn to you for help. Any donation, no matter how small, will bring me one step closer to the treatment I desperately need. Your generosity will help give me a fighting chance to live cancer-free and return to the life I love, which is teaching and making a difference in the lives of the children I serve.
