<div>​Let us introduce you to <strong>Kota Bear Williams</strong>—truly one of the smartest, most imaginative, and coolest six year olds you could ever meet. Kota has a deep love for animals; he can talk about their habitats and identify some of the rarest creatures on the planet. He also loves letters and words, reading well beyond his grade level.

<div>​But Kota’s true magic might just be his music. He has an incredible, innate musical gift—learning songs entirely by ear, playing all kinds of instruments, and even using his iPad to compose his own original pieces. To know Kota is to know his laugh: it is loud, contagious, and comes straight from the heart.

<div>​On January 25, 2025, during his preschool year, Kota went to the doctor for a persistent cough. What was supposed to be a routine visit turned into every parent's worst nightmare: a blood test revealed that Kota had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

<div>​He immediately began intense treatment at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, enduring countless painful and traumatic procedures. After months in the hospital, Kota was finally able to go home, though his reality was far from normal—he carried his chemotherapy medicine everywhere in a backpack, hooked directly to his port. He missed the rest of his preschool year with his friends, continuing his fight through rigorous outpatient treatments.

<div>​Kota showed his trademark resilience and was finally able to start kindergarten. Tragically, just as he was regaining a piece of his childhood, his cancer returned in May 2026.

<div><strong>​The Long Road to Boston—And How You Can Help:</strong>

<div>​Since his relapse, Kota has been back at the children’s hospital in Hartford. His battle is intensifying, and he will soon be transferred to Boston Children’s Hospital for intensive radiation and stem cell treatments—a grueling process expected to last up to six months.

<div>​Through every single step of this agonizing journey, Kota’s dad, Jason, has been a rock. As a single father, Jason is doing everything in his power to ensure Kota never has to face a scary hospital room alone. But balancing 24/7 care for a critically ill child while trying to maintain financial stability and cover mounting medical and living expenses is an impossible weight for one person to carry.
