Kiyarna Manning’s Road to Recovery
On Saturday 18th January 2020 my beautiful niece was involved in a very serious carting accident at lockyer valley speedway. It took 2.5 hrs to stabilize her enough to be air lifted from the track to the hospital. She has taken a massive trauma hit to her head when her kart rode up the wall and she smashed her head into a steel pole and the edge of the cement wall. She received a 10cm long laceration down to her skull across her hairline. The trauma caused her to seizure and become unconscious for the entire time. She is currently still asleep in intensive care and is being monitored 24/7. The CT scans came back with small amounts of blood in her brain fluid and bruising. We wont know of what damage this has caused until she wakes up. She has broken her shoulder blade along with broken teeth and a lot of bruising
My sister, Larissa and her husband Shane are not the kind of people to ask for help but I know there are so many people out there who would LOVE to be able to assist. With travelling so far each day to spend precious time with Kiyarna, meals for them and their two other children, hospital parking and not working the finances are getting tight and financial burden is not what they need to be focusing on right now. I figured this may help them put every single ounce of energy into Kiyarna’s recovery.
